A number of former Jordanian officers who fought the 1967 war met with Israeli veterans last month in occupied Jerusalem to commemorate the 45th war anniversary, according to Haaretz newspaper.
The meeting was organized by the Israeli economic cooperation foundation and Jordan’s Amman center for peace and development, and funded by the German Friedrich Ebert foundation.
The Israeli and Jordanian veterans toured the sites of battles that took place between the two sides and participated in a memorial service held at the Ammunition Hill where the most ferocious confrontations had happened.
The newspaper pointed out that the Israeli and Jordanian officers were touched to see each other and enjoyed during a two-day “friendly” meeting talking about the days of war.
