The International Quds Institution has warned of an expected escalation of incursions by Jewish settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque with the approach of the anniversary of the “destruction of the Temple” which falls on Sunday.
The foundation revealed in a press statement on Friday that the Israeli incursions into the Aqsa aim at strengthening the Jewish control over the Mosque in order to rebuild the alleged temple.
The Israeli occupation authorities attempt to make the Jewish presence in the Aqsa mosque natural and familiar through providing political coverage and security protection for the settlers while storming the mosque and through interfering in the work of the Islamic Waqf, the IQI stated.
It called on the Palestinian citizens, residing in occupied Jerusalem and the territories occupied in 1948, to strengthen their presence in the Aqsa Mosque in an attempt to prevent the settlers and the Jewish extremists from reaching the mosque and from carrying out more raids.
It also appealed to Arab and Islamic countries, particularly Jordan as it is mainly concerned to defend the holy sites in the occupied city, to take an effective action to confront these incursions.
Meanwhile, Jerusalem Committee of Arab doctors Union called for organizing a protest and burning the Israel flag, on Saturday in front of Dar Al-Hekma in the Egyptian capital Cairo, to condemn the Israeli occupation’s threats to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque on the anniversary of the destruction of the temple.
For his part, The director of the Emergency Relief Committee of the Arab Doctors Union, Dr. Jamal Abdul Salam, warned of the consequences of the Zionist threats to storm the Aqsa Mosque, and said in a statement to the PIC that the protest represents a message to the “Zionist enemy” that Egypt will not stand idle vis-à-vis such threats.
