Three young Palestinians were wounded on Saturday evening and three others were arrested during clashes with the Israeli police outside Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate.

According to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, the clashes began when Israeli settlers began verbal altercations between one of the detained youths and Israeli settlers, who attempted to hit the detainee.

Witnesses noted that the altercation escalated when additional police officers arrived and began hitting Palestinians indiscriminately with batons. The Palestinians responded by throwing garbage and empty bottles.

One Israeli police officer was slightly wounded in addition to five Israelis on a bus that was hit with stones.
