The Zionism Antiquities Authority was opened officially a few days before the tunnel that runs from The excavations complex in the neighborhood of the of Hellwih Valley in Silwan south the Al Aqsa Mosque, called the “Givati position” and to the so-called “Museum of David Wilson,” South West Al-Aqsa Mosque. The researcher Ahmed Yassin said that the tunnel extends from the complex of “Givati position” and till south of the Al Aqsa Mosque under the Islamic Museum. It Has been linked to a network of tunnels stretching from the Heirodiagn road from pool of Silwan in the south and north to Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He added that he was the opening of excavations “position Givati” for visitors as well, and the occupation identifies the tunnel to the visitors as a parts of the palace of Queen Helena and complex so-called “city of David,” which the occupation began excavations in 2003 under the pretext of building parking and turned into a settlement complex at the gate of the Hellwih valley.
Yasin pointed out that now it is possible for Jews and foreign tourists walk on foot under Silwan neighborhoods and homes and landmarks of Jerusalem a distance of 650 meters from the Silwan pool area to The Umayyad arc without stopping or going out to change the tunnel.!!
